Promote the best practices and connect professionals from the field of cytometry research in the region of Northern California. NorlCal region is defined from and including Monterey, Fresno and Mono counties and all counties north of there to the Oregon border.
NCCG was founded in 2012 by a group of San Francisco Bay Area cytometry scientists, flow cytometry core facility managers and shared resource administrators. The inaugural September 2012 meeting was held in San Francisco at the Gladstone Institutes and was attended by over 100 researchers. Both the following 2014 and 2015 meetings were also equally successful. Since 2024 NCCG has been registered as a non-profit and incorporated organization, we now look forward to hosting our next meeting in Q3 2024.
Membership of the organization is open to all individuals in the Northern California region who share the stated purpose of the NCCG and who have educational, research, or practical experience in some aspect of cytometry.
We wish to provide education for junior to leadership levels of scientific professionals, share best practices for the management of cytometry facilities, meet to network among like-minded scientists and learn about technical advances in the field of cytometry. Stay Tuned!
NCCG was welcomed to the ISAC Associated Society Program. We are looking forward to a very fruitful partnership and collaboration.
The Bylaws of the NCCG are still in review and are planned to be approved in early 2024.
The Officers of the NCCG are a President, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The most recent election was December 2023.
